Cities We Roof in Southern Illinois

Southern Illinois is not one roofing market. Carbondale and Murphysboro have big stands of mature oak and sycamore, so we pull as much limb abrasion and clogged-valley debris as we do storm damage. Marion, Herrin and Carterville sit in open ground along the Route 13 corridor where straight-line wind gets a running start and takes whole courses of shingles off the windward slope. Anna, Cobden and Makanda run up against the Shawnee hills, where steep slopes and heavy tree cover mean access and fall protection drive the schedule.

Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Benton and West Frankfort have a lot of housing stock from the coal era — roofs with multiple layers, older decking, and ventilation that was never right to begin with. Chester and Sparta catch the weather coming across the Mississippi first. Vienna and Metropolis, down toward the Ohio, get the humidity and the algae streaking that goes with it.
